Here I am. Thirty-five years old and moving back to my hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. I haven’t lived in Jacksonville since moving away for college in 2001, but I have been back many times each year to visit family. Over time, I have watched this city grow and come into its own. The food here is amazing but there seems to be lack of reputable food blogs about this wonderful city. I’m going to try to change that.
By day, I work in education. I have held various jobs from teacher, to college access coordinator, to college admission officer, to administrator. I have my doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from The Florida State University. I am happily married to my husband and we share our home with our four-legged fur kid, Kirby, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
My family (well, my dad) has been in the restaurant business for the better part of 40 years. He has owned and operated some well known regional restaurants. While I didn’t get the bug for restaurant operation, I did get the bug for enjoying great food. I love to write as much as I love to eat, so I figured there is no better way to combine these passions than through a food blog.
